'The Cut' featured in the above
photograph of Banbridge, was built to lessen the gradient
on the hill through the town centre.
The Marquis of Downshire financed the work, to make sure
the horse drawn Mail Coach passed through the town instead
of Portadown, and stopped off at this inn at the top of
the town. |
