Shipping policy
As we are not stockists of the things we sell, it takes longer for them to get to you. Why? Because we're the manufacturer. Thomas Ferguson & Co Ltd have been weaving and creating products since 1854. A lot of our production process hasn't changed much (except for electricity and the like).
We still weave out the fabric on our jaquard looms, then cut it and stitch it by hand. This means there is sometimes a little variation between each item. Our finishing process is the biggest process to have been modernised. We have changed it up to allow us to be much more environmentally friendly - and to cut up to a month off the lead time for certain products (Ferguson's tablecloths especially).
However it does take some time to create your products when you order. Sometimes we will have a stock of items prepared, sometimes we'll have to make things especially for you. Please allow around 10 working days for items to be shipped after we receive your order. Feel free to contact us if you wish to check what we have ready-in-stock, or if you'd like to check up on your order status.
In terms of carriage, our costs are based on order weight and size. We cover part of the carriage costs, and pass the rest on to the customer. We feel this is more honest and works out cheaper for the customer, rather than hiding the shipping costs within the product price (like many other retail and reseller sites).
We use only shipping options that allow for a barcode to be attached to the packages. This allows the customer proof of shipping, and gives us proof of delivery. For customers located in Europe (EU), we recommend using a courier option where possible. As we are based in Northern Ireland, you should not have to pay duty on any items you receive from us. However Royal Mail and the UK Government have not finalised their processes and policies on this, and thus (despite our best efforts) mail sent with Royal Mail may incur customs fees as if they were sent from Britain/Mainland UK.
